Akita Port (port code: JPAXT) is a medium-sized port in Japan. It is situated at the estuary of Omonogawa (Omono River), on the northwest coast of the island of Honshu, facing the Sea of Japan.
The port is well-equipped to handle a range of imports and exports. It has facilities for handling break bulk, dry bulk and containers. It handles approximately 9.7 million tons of cargo annually. Cargoes handled include logs, zinc concentrates, cement, phosphate rock and petroleum products.
