Apia Port (port code: WSAPW) is the principal port of the independent state of Samoa. It lies on the northern coast of Upolu Island.
The port is a natural monopoly, with a total length of 302 meters. It provides facilities for international freight movements, container ships, fuel & gas tankers, cruise vessels, bulk petroleum products, coastal barge ramps and passenger facilities. It hosts a 25-pen yacht marina commissioned in 2011. On the opposite side of Apia harbour is a separate fishery port that caters for the local fisheries industry and hosts a full-time fish market and exports packing facility.
As Samoa’s only commercial port, the port handles almost all of the country's foreign trade cargoes. It handles approximately 220 vessels and 8,000TEU annually. The types of vessels regularly calling at this port are cargo vessels, accounting for about 46%; and fishing vessels, taking up around 31%.
The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 200 meters. The maximum draught is 9.7 meters. The maximum deadweight is 50,475t.
