Arica Port (port code: CLARI) is a medium-sized port in Chile. Located on the south side of Rada de Arica, 2,062 kilometers north of Santiago, the capital of Chile, it is the most northly port of Chile.
The port consists of 6 berths, protected by a breakwater over 1,000 meters in length. There are 2 offshore oil terminals, 1 for loading and 1 for discharging. There is equipment available for cargo handling with up to 100t capacity.
The port handles approximately 1.1 million tons of cargo annually. The main cargo loaded are bulk minerals, metals and oil from Bolivia, as well as fishmeal, olives and other cargoes from Chile. The principal discharged cargo include grains, fertilisers, flour, machinery and other goods.
Each year, about 273 vessels visit this port, among which around 67% are cargo vessels, 18.5% are dredging vessels. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 329 meters. The maximum draught is 11.4 meters. The maximum deadweight is 128,688t.
