Bahia de Caraquez Port (port code: ECBHA) is a small roadstead port in Ecuador. It lies on the right bank of the Jone estuary in the Karax Bay, approximately 550 nautical miles south of the Panama Canal.
The port offers facilities for handling break bulk and dry bulk. The main export from this port is castor seed, which is loaded by 300t capacity lighters. The lighters may only cross the bar at high water and hence, a round trip may take three hours plus time for loading the lighters.
The maximum draft being allowed is 7.8 meters. Vessels must anchor some 3 nautical miles from the port.
