Banjarmasin Port (port code: IDBAN/ IDBDJ) is the most important river port and one of the oldest trading posts in Kalimantan, Indonesia. Situated between the rivers Martapura and Barito on the delta island of Tapas on Borneo’s south coast, approximately 16 nautical miles from the Barito River, it is the gateway to Central and South Kalimantan.
The port consists of 3 terminals: Martapura Baru, Trisakti, and Basirih. Trisakti terminal is the trade center for the basin and handles containers, coal, and passengers. Martapura Baru terminal is the oldest among the three and has been closed, and its cargo traffic has been moved to Basirih.
The port handles approximately 41.7 million tons of cargo and 240,500TEU annually. The main export commodities handled at Trisakti terminal are logs, rubber, coal and rattan, main imports are spare parts and chemicals.
Each year about 11,250 vessels visit this port, among which around 38% are dredging vessels, and 32% are cargo vessels. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 251 meters. The maximum draught is 6.8 meters. The maximum deadweight is 22,763t.
