Becancour port (port code: CABEC) is a medium-sized port in Canada. It is located on the south shore of the St Lawrence River within the Province of Quebec.
Covering an area of 4,000ha, the port is integrated with an industrial park designed for heavy and light industry. It is owned by La Societe du Parc Industriel et Portuaire de Becancour, a Quebec government corporation. There are 5 berths and a Ro-Ro ramp.
The port is open throughout the year and the principal materials handled are alumina, coke and magnesite. Each year approximately 170 vessels and 2,007,000t of cargo are handled at this port. The types of vessels regularly visiting this port are bulk carriers, accounting for 47%, and general cargo vessels, accounting for 31%. With a maximum draught of 11 meters and a maximum deadweight of 78,175t being allowed, the maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 226 meters.
