Cleveland Port (port code: USCLE) is the largest port on Lake Erie and the third largest US port in the Great Lakes area. It is situated on the southern shore of Lake Erie, 150 nautical miles west of the Seaway exit.
The port has facilities for handling break bulk, liquid, dry bulk and container. There are 11 deep-water berths, two of which are river docks, protected by a 9-kilometer-long breakwater which ensures safe berthing in all weathers.
The port handles approximately 11.5 million tons of both international and inter lake cargoes annually. The main cargo handled are unfinished steel products and bulk materials. About 36% of the vessels that regularly call at this port are cargo vessels. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 309 meters. The maximum draught is 8.6 meters. The maximum deadweight is 93,646t.
