Frankfurt port (port code: DEFRA), also known as Frankfurt an Main port, is a large port in Germany. It is situated on the River Main, 30 kilometers from its junction with the Rhine.
The port has facilities for handling break bulk, containers, liquid and dry bulk. It deals with approximately 6 million tons of cargo annually. The cargo handled include a wide range of general cargoes and also wet and dry bulks.
Each year about 4,000 vessels visit this port, among which about 67% are cargo vessels and 20% are tankers. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 187 meters. The maximum draught is 5.4 meters. The maximum deadweight is 6,500t.
