Gwadar port (port code: PKGWD) is a medium-sized port in Pakistan. It is situated on the Balochistan coast, approximately 460 kilometers west of Karachi, opposite the Strait of Hormuz at the mouth of The Gulf. Its strategic location enables it to handle trade flow with over 20 countries.
The port consists of a commercial deep-water port, built on reclaimed land, and a fishing port which is sometimes called Gwadar Mini Port. The commercial port is capable of handling conventional and container cargoes. Approximately 2,300,000t of cargo are handled annually.
