Igoumenitsa port (port code: GRIGO) is the chief port of Thesprotia and Epirus, and one of the largest passenger ports of Greece, connecting northwestern Mainland Greece with the Ionian Islands and Italy. It is situated on the east side of the Corfu channel in Igoumenitsis Bay.
The port handles mainly ferry passengers. Each year 2,800,000 passengers visit this port. New berths are planned for construction and the port will be able to accept most types of cargo ships. It at present handles 120 vessels annually. The type of vessels regularly calling at the port is cargo vessels, accounting for 80%.
