Jambi Port (port code: IDDJB), also known as Talang Duku Port, is a medium-sized port in Indonesia. Located approximately 90 nautical miles from the bar at the entrance to the Batang Hari River in Eastern Sumatera, it is the shipping and commercial center of Jambi province, a hub for the province’s network of roads and an important trade center in a region where oil, rubber, timber, rice, and rattan are produced.
The port handles approximately 4.57 million tons of cargo annually. The main exports leaving this port are plywood, sawn timber, rubber and palm oil. Consumer goods imported through this port include milk, fish, soy beans, vegetables, sugar, soft drinks, tires, and carpets. Industrial raw materials imported through this port include melamin powder, industrial flour and salt, alcohol, phenol, sodium sulfate, sodium chlorate, and parts for industrial equipment.
The port is used by small seagoing vessels, coasters and small river craft. It handles about 4,885 vessels annually.
