The port of Kalamata (Port Code:GRKLX) is located at the northeast head of Messiniakos Kolpos, in southern Greece. A mole runs alongside the shore for 300m, ending in a breakwater, 920m in length which is then surrounded by another breakwater, 400m in length. There is a CBM offshore for the discharge of gasolines. As the capital and chief port of the Messenia regional unit, it lies along the Nedon River at the head of the Messenian Gulf.
