Luba port (port code: GQLUB) is a new deep water port and oilfield service logistics base that is being developed on the west coast of the island of Bioko. Located approximately 1 kilometers northwest of the town, approximately 40 kilometers by road from the main town and international airport of Malabo, this port is a logistics centre for the growing oil and gas industries in the Gulf of Guinea.
There are regular liner calls from Europe, US and South Africa with feeder container services. The types of vessels regularly calling at this port are general cargo (29%), offshore supply ship (17%), and supply vessel (11%). The port allows for a maximum draught of 7.8 meters and a maximum deadweight of 17568t. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 227 meters.
