Muscat (Port Code: OMMCT) is Oman's main cruise port, a major seaport and the capital city of Oman (country on the Arabian Peninsula's southeastern coast). Port Muscat has been an important commercial port since the 6th century BC when was controlled by the Persians. The port for the city of Muscat, is the main deep water port of Oman, comprising 8 commercial berths up to 13.0m draught with a total of 5,290m in length. The main import cargoes handled include grain, steel, Indian clinker, white goods, vehicles, industrial spare parts, fertilisers, foodstuffs and livestock. Exports include frozen fish, scrap metal, copper cathodes and chromate. Port Muscat is Oman's main cargo and containership port, with annual trade volume 1,6 million tons. Most seaport facilities are state-owned and managed.
