Port Kamsar Port (Port Code: GNKMR) is a port lying on the east bank of the Rio Nunez in the northern portion of the country's coastline. The port is approx. 7 n.m. from open sea. Formerly known as Kakande, Port Kamsar serves a number of bauxite mines in the region. Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinee operates a loading terminal in Port Kamsar, capable of accommodating seagoing vessels. A number of barge terminals are situated upriver, and include Dougoula (Taressa), Daplion and Bel Air (Katagouma), with transshipment taking place at sea.
