Port of Porto Torres (Port Code: ITPTO) is a port located facing the Golfo Dell' Asinara in northwestern Sardinia. It is the second largest port in passenger traffic of Sardinia. The port is protected by two breakwaters, Molo di Levante and Molo di Ponente, and consists of two areas; Porto Commerciale, a complex of basins lying to the east of Molo di Ponente, and Porto Industriale, a much larger area protected by Diga Foranea, to the west of Molo di Ponente. The port can accommodate bulk liquids and solids, Ro-Ro and passenger ferries, fishing boats and coasters. Services include bunkering and watering, but the repair facilities and a slipway, are only suitable for smaller vessels. Approximately 1,500 vessels, 2,009,000t of cargo and 476,000 passengers are handled annually.
