Portocel (Port Code:BRPOR), also known as Barra do Riacho or Aracruz, is the only port terminal in Brazil specialized in handling forestry products. It is located in Barra do Riacho, in the city of Aracruz, Espírito Santo, 70 km to the north of Vitória. It has an infrastructure capable of carrying 7.5 million tons annually and transports 60% of the pulp exported by Brazil. It is a benchmark in pulp transportation and is considered one of the world’s most efficient ports. This means operations are faster, more qualified, and have a lower damage rate and operating cost, which explains the record of 37,168 tons of pulp loaded on to a ship in a single day. In 2017, the port reached the historic mark of 100 million tons loaded, another world’s first, which is the result of the company’s high-performance culture and commitment of its teams.
