The Port of Reggio (Port Code: ITREG) is a seaport In the Province of Reggio Calabria, southern Italy facing the Messina Strait (Stretto di Messina). The harbour consists of an artificial basin, protected from the west by Molo di Ponente, which extends nearly 0.5nm north from the coast close north of the mouth of Torrente Annunziata. The main imports are coal, wheat, flour and marble with the main exports being timber, citrus and wood products. As a ferry port, it handles passenger and vehicle Ro-Ro services across the Messina Strait to Messina, northeastern Sicily. It also handles fishing vessels and leisure craft. The port handles in the region of 10 million passengers a year. The port connects Reggio and its surroundings to Messina, Catania, Aeolian Islands, Taormina and Malta.
