Saiki port (Port Code:JPSAI) is situated on the E coast of Kyushu facing the Bungo-suido which separates Kyushu and Shikoku. Previously a naval base, Saiki is now an industrial open port, handling a variety of cargoes and supporting nearby heavy industrial works. The port has been engaged in foreign trade since the 1950s. Main commodities handled include cement, wood chip, wood pulp and general cargoes. No lightering can take place at the port. Approx 100 vessels visit the port annually. Max size: Cement Pier: LOA 170m, draught 10.0m, 27,000GT. Lumber Mooring Buoy: 60,000GT.
