Port of Saint John (port code: CASJB) is a medium-sized port in Canada. It is situated in the Bay of Fundy, 110 kilometers from the border with the USA, 771 kilometers by rail from Montreal and 1,318 kilometers by rail from Toronto.
As an ice free, deep water port with modern, specialised facilities, the port exports forest and refined oil products, grain, flour and other agricultural commodities, salt, metals in ingot and fabricated forms and potash. It operates 21 berthing facilities with a total docking frontage of 5,000 meters. There are several private operations located throughout the port area, including the Courtenay Bay Terminal, used for the export of refined products from the Irving Oil Refinery, and the Canaport LNG Terminal, 10 kilometers southeast.
About 41% of vessels regularly visiting the port are cargo vessels. With a maximum draught of 11.8 meters and a maximum deadweight of 63,800t being allowed, the maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 281 meters.
