The port of Socotra Island ( Port Code:YESOI) is a commercial work through imports from the Republic and neighboring countries, which is regarded as the only marine seaport to supply the Island with oil derivatives and foodstuffs. It serves as a berth for the ships supplying all the things needed for life to Socotra from Mukalla or Dubai. This port is also used for supplying petrol and solar oil for Hadiboh’s diesel power station that usually stops its operation from 6.00 a.m. to 9 a.m.
The sea lane was affected by the strong winds and CHABALA and MAGH Hurricanes in 2015, but there were maintenance and rehabilitation of the sea lane in Hawlaf funded by the United Arab Emirates which the length of the berth has become 135 meters and the submersible between 4.5 to 6 meters.
