The port of Trapani (Port Code: ITTRA) is a port in the center of the Mediterranean Sea, located on Sicily Island's west-northwestern coast. It is the ideal stopover for both commercial and tourist routes.
Port of Trapani has always been considered as one of the safest ports in southern Italy. Docks and breakwater barriers defend an extensive natural basin with a water surface of about 900,000 square meters. The port includes the commercial area, a fishing port and cruise and yacht piers. As an important cruise port, Trapani is the gateway to the ancient Elymian city Segesta (later Greek colony) and to Aegadian Islands, the largest of which (Favignana) is approximately 16 km (10 mi) southwest of Trapani. Ferries from Trapani (run by Liberty Lines Fast Ferries) connect the city to Favignana (15 daily crossings), Levanzo (15 daily), Marettimo (7 daily), Pantelleria (6 weekly), Ustica (1 weekly), Naples Beverello (1 weekly).
