Trondheim port (port code:NOTRD) is a centre for land and sea communications between S and N Norway and also with Sweden. The port area in Trondheim is centrally located in Norway's third largest city, closely connected to the rail and national road network.Trondheim is also an important hub for passenger traffic with regular calls of Hurtigruten as well as international cruise traffic. The port has regular shipping routes to most major ports in the N and W of Europe and with a cruise terminal. It handles an increasing number of international cruise ships.
The port remains ice free throughout the winter and is rarely affected by fog. Approx 5,000 vessels totalling 8,000,000GT visit the port annually with approx 1,300,000t of cargo handled.
