Uglegorsk Port (Port Code: RUUGL) is a port located in the Straits of Tatarskiy on the western coast of Sakhalin Island. Vessels in the port are loaded and discharged by lighters. Anchorage can be found in two areas with depths of up to 18.0m and 20.0m. There are no draught or LOA restrictions on size of vessel at anchor. Authorized by Uglegorsk Port Authority, it is open all year-round. Bituminous coal is mined in the town and Uglegorsk is also a center of agriculture. Imports mainly include mineral oil, and rice. Exports include Salmon, trout, fish offal, timber, wood pulp and coal.
