Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II International Airport (IATA: PLM, ICAO: WIPP) is an international airport serving the city of Palembang, South Sumatra and surrounding areas. It is located in the region KM.10 Talang Betutu District. It is named after Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin, the last Sultan of Palembang. Palembang is served by all major Indonesian airlines as well as international airlines from the region. The airport is operated by state-owned entity, PT Angkasa Pura II.
The aircraft parking apron can accommodate 19 aircraft. The terminal area was expanded from 34,000 square meters to 115,000 square meters. Passenger capacity of the airport will be gradually increase to accommodate 9 million passengers annually. In 2018, there were 5,126,298 passengers traveling through this airport. The local government built the Palembang Light Rail Transit, which connects the airport to Jakabaring Sport City.
