Guaraní International Airport (IATA: AGT, ICAO: SGES) is an international airport located in the municipality of Minga Guazú, and serving Ciudad del Este. It is the second most important and international airport in Paraguay. The airport, located within the municipality of Minga Guazú is located 25 km (16 mi) from downtown Ciudad del Este. The airport was dedicated on 20 August 1993. The facility was built to replace the former Alejo García Airport in Ciudad del Este, which eventually was surrounded by the city's development.
