Aktobe International Airport (IATA code: AKX, ICAO code: UATT) is the air gate of western Kazakhstan, located in the industrial area at the western part of the country. Aktobe region is one of the fastest growing areas of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the rapid development of which is associated with the implementation of large-scale oil, gas, mining and other large projects. Territorially and geographically, Aktobe Airport is located at the intersection of major international air navigation routes connecting Western Europe with Central and South-East Asia, and there is a part of the transport infrastructure in Western Kazakhstan. The airport provides receiving and servicing of almost all types of aircrafts on routes connecting cities within the country as well as the near and far abroad. It is in Kazakhstan located 1.5 km (0.93 mi) south-west of Aktobe. It has a small terminal with five airliner parking spots.
