Djerba–Zarzis International Airport (IATA: DJE, ICAO: DTTJ) is an international airport serving the island of Djerba in Tunisia. It is an important destination for seasonal leisure flights. Located nine kilometers west of Houmt Souk, it was put into operation in 1970 to improve the tourism in Djerba. Covering an area of 295 hectares and with a capacity of 4,000,000 passengers per year, its activity is essentially linked to the transport of tourists coming to visit Djerba and its region. The terminal covers 73,000 m2 and is completed by a new terminal, covering an area of 57,000 m2 on three levels, inaugurated on December 22, 2007. The airport is managed by the Office of Civil Aviation and Airports (OACA).
The airport consists of a terminal and a runway and is mainly used in the summer (June to September). The airport offers many connections to and from airports in France and Russia, Tunisair Express and Nouvelair offer domestic flights to Tunis-Carthage Airport. Most hotels and resorts in Djerba are located in the northeast of the island, in the so-called Zone Touristique.
