El Paso International Airport ((IATA code: ELP, ICAO code: KELP) is the largest civil airport in West Texas and also the largest in South New Mexico if it is included. Located four miles (6 kilometers) northeast of downtown El Paso, it is the gateway to West Texas, Southern New Mexico and Northern Mexico.
Covering an area of 6,670 acres (2,699 ha), the airport is home to seven major airlines, with 14 non-stop destinations. It handled 3,516,911 passengers in 2019.
The airport’s terminal features a pier-satellite layout with the old terminal in the middle while the new structure for ticketing and bag claim in the front and two passenger concourses behind. It has a central entrance and the gates branch out east to west on the two concourses. There are 15 gates: Gates A1–A4 (on the West Concourse) and Gates B1–B11 (on the East Concourse).
