Fortaleza-Pinto Martins International Airport (IATA: FOR, ICAO: SBFZ) is the international airport serving the north-eastern city of Fortaleza, which is the fifth largest and most densely populated city in Brazil. Located 6 km (4 mi) south of downtown Fortaleza, it is named after Euclides Pinto Martins (1892–1924) a Ceará-born aviator, who in 1922 was one of the pioneers of the air-link between New York City and Rio de Janeiro. Some facilities of this airport are shared with Fortaleza Air Force Base. The airport offers an extensive domestic network as well a number of European services. Foreign carriers such as Air France-KLM and TAP Portugal offer direct connections with European capitals. The airport has been operated by Fraport Brasil since Jan-2018.
