Shizuoka Airport (IATA code: FSZ, ICAO code: RJNS), also called Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport, is a public airport serving Hamamatsu, a city located in western Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. It is located in Makinohara and Shimada, 27 kilometers (17 miles) southwest of Shizuoka Station and about 45 kilometers (28 miles) from Hamamatsu, 80 kilometers (50 miles) from Mount Fuji, 130 kilometers (81 miles) from Nagoya, and 175 kilometers (109 miles) from Tokyo in a direct line.
Opened on June 4, 2009, the airport has domestic service to Sapporo, Fukuoka, Naha (Okinawa), Komatsu, Kumamoto, and Kagoshima. International routes connect it to Ningbo, Seoul, Taipei, and Shanghai. In 2015, the airport handled a total of 699,276 passengers and 371 metric tonnes of cargo with 9,689 aircraft movements.
