Capitán Vicente Almandos Almonacid Airport (IATA code: IRJ, ICAO code: SANL) is the main airport in La Rioja Province, Argentina serving the city of La Rioja. The airport is on the northeast side of the city. The La Rioja region is sparsely populated and is dominated by the cattle and viniculture industries. Aerolineas Argentinas is the airport's only scheduled operator. La Rioja Airport is publicly-owned, and is operated by Aeropuertos Argentina 2000. The airport was named after the Argentine aviation pioneer Vicente Almandos Almonacid (es) (1882–1953).
