Santorini (Thira) National Airport (IATA code: JTR, ICAO code: LGSR), presently also called Santorini (Thira) International Airport, is both a military and a civil airport, serving Santorini, Greece. It is located north of the village of Kamari, about 6 kilometers southeast of the centre of the city of Thira.
The airport had undergone an upgrade under the plan of Fraport Greece which was completed as of January 2021. The upgrade achieved 236% increase in total terminal space at 15,640 square meters, by replacing part of the current terminal and constructing a new terminal. It also increased the number of check-in counters from 8 to 17, the number of departure gates from 5 to 6, and the number of security-check lanes from 2 to 7. The apron area and sanitary facilities had also been upgraded.
In 2019, the airport saw a peak in the number of passengers passing through its gates: a total of 2,300,408 passengers, with 1,228,840 and 1,071,568 international.
