Transit Visa-Free Policy

Since October 1, 2014, Kunming Changshui International Airport has implemented a 72-hour visa-free transit policy. Citizens of 51 countries holding valid international travel documents and confirmed onward tickets to a third country (or region) within 72 hours can apply for a transit visa exemption at the airport. The visa-free transit policy allows travelers to stay within Kunming's administrative area for up to 72 hours from midnight the day following entry. The eligible countries include:
