Almería Airport (IATA code: LEI, ICAO code: LEAM) is a modern airport, with arrivals and departures taking place on the main ground floor. It is located 9 km (5.6mi) east of Almería city centre, in the province of Almería in south-eastern Spain. It is close to the main tourist centers of the province such as the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park, El Ejido, Mojácar, Roquetas de Mar or Vera. Almeria airport has good access to the East for the Northern Costa de Almeria and Mojacar or West to Roquetas de Mar and the Costa Tropical.
There is a terrace and a small cafe overlooking the runway. A new departure area was added to the terminal in 2009. Passenger numbers totalled 1 million in 2017, a 9% increase from the previous year, but still 20% down from it's best year of 2007.
