Allama Iqbal International Airport (IATA code: LHE, ICAO code: OPLA), originally known as Lahore International Airport, is the second largest civilian airport by traffic in Pakistan, serving Lahore, capital of Punjab and second-largest city of Pakistan. It also serves a large portion of travellers from other regions of Punjab province. The airport is about 15 kilometers from the centre of the city.
The airport has three terminals: the Allama Iqbal terminal, the Hajj terminal and a cargo terminal. The Allama Iqbal terminal is a newly built one and was commissioned in March 2003. The facility is presently handling 4.21 million passengers traffic and 85000 tons of cargo per annum. Presently 15 airlines are operating which includes 4 local airlines.
In 2018, the airport handled 4,490,182 passengers and 87,969 metric tons of cargo with 32,304 aircraft movement.
