Welwitschia Mirabilis International Airport (IATA code: MSZ, ICAO code: FNMO) is an airport serving the Atlantic port city of Moçâmedes, the capital of Namibe Province in Angola. Located in the city of Mocamedes at a distance of 7 kilometers from the city center, in the southern region of Angola and 12 kilometers from the coast, it is the main gateway to discover the beauties of the province of Namibe and of great importance to the region due to its strategic position.
In 2013, the old passenger terminal of this airport was completely replaced by two new terminals where passengers boarding and disembarking. The passenger capacity has been expanded from 120 passengers per hour to 400 per hour during peak hours.
The airport also has a cargo terminal built from scratch with a capacity for two thousand tons of cargo. It has always been the gateway for cargo from the south of Angola, especially at the time of Angola’s civil war, but it did not have the right place to store cargo.
