It is located four nautical miles (7 kilometers) south of the central business district of Olympia, and about one mile (1.6 kilometers) east of Interstate 5, within the boundaries of the city of Tumwater which is south of and adjacent to Olympia.
Owned by the Port of Olympia, the airport is used as one of the medical helicopter bases of Olympic Flight Museum’s medical transport service. Covering an area of 1,632 acres (660 ha), it has a passenger terminal, an air traffic control tower and a full-instrument landing approach system.
