Gold Coast Airport (IATA code: OOL, ICAO code: YBCG), formerly known as Coolangatta Airport, is the sixth-busiest airport in Australia, and the busiest outside a state capital, in terms of passengers, and eighth-busiest in terms of aircraft movements. It is also the third-fastest-growing airport in the country.
The airport is located at the southern end of the Gold Coast and approximately 90 kilometers (56 miles) south of center of Brisbane, within South East Queensland agglomeration. The entrance to the airport is situated in the suburb of Bilinga near Coolangatta. Its runway cuts through the state borders of Queensland and New South Wales.
For the 2016–17 financial year, Gold Coast Airport registered a passenger traffic of 6,303,920 with 42,570 aircraft movements.
