Yelizovo Airport (IATA code: PKC, ICAO code: UHPP), also known as Elizovo Airport or Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Airport, is the main air harbor of the Kamchatka Region. This is the only way of passenger service with other regions of Russia and the globe. It is located in the Russian Far East city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Kamchatka Krai.
The airport is capable to accommodate airliners of any size on a daily basis and is fitted with modern landing approach control equipment. It is certified and licensed for all kinds of provided services. In August 2017, Airports of Regions, an airport management company, had the winning bid in a competition to construct a new passenger terminal at the airport. Originally construction was scheduled to begin in 2018 with completion by 2021. Construction delays have pushed back the expected completion date to August, 2023.
The airport’s passenger traffic had been increasing in recent ten years and reached at a peak in 2019, right before the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, when the airport handled a total of 757,698 passengers.
