Pakse International Airport (IATA code: PKZ, ICAO code: VLPS) is one of the few international airports in Laos. It is located in the Champasak province of Southern Laos, around 3 kilometers north of Pakse, the capital city of the Champasak province.
Though civilian, the airfield is also used by the military. is a military airfield for Lao People's Liberation Army Air Force aircraft as a detachment base and it is operated by the Military of Laos / Civil Aviation Authority. It has been in use since 1959 and re-opened after renovations in 2009, which replaced its old short control tower with a new one next to the terminal to provide ATC and intended to make it the main aviation hub of southern Laos.
