Falcone Borsellino Airport (IATA: PMO, ICAO: LICJ) or simply Palermo Airport, formerly known as Punta Raisi Airport, is an airport located at Cinisi, 19 NM (35 km; 22 mi) west northwest of Palermo, the capital city of the Italian island of Sicily. It is the second airport of Sicily in terms of passengers after Catania-Fontanarossa Airport, with 7,018,087 passengers handled in 2019.
Airline companies are increasing, by the low cost airlines, which now are connecting Sicily to and the rest of Europe. The most important low cost airline is Meridiana, which has its hub there. Other airlines flying to PMO are Ryanair, Air Berlin, Air Italy, Blu-express, easyJet, Jetairfly, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Lloyd and others. It is now one of busiest airports in Italy.
