Chișinău International Airport (IATA code: KIV, ICAO code: LUKK) is Moldova's main international airport. It is located 13 kilometers (8.1 miles) southeast of the centre of Chișinău, the capital city.
The main terminal was built in the 1970s, with a capacity of 1,200,000 passengers per year. An annex terminal building with an area of 4,270 square meters (46,000 square feet) was added to the renovated old terminal building of 7,600 square meters (82,000 square feet) in 2002. The annual capacity of the airport had increased to 5.4 million passengers.
In 2019, the airport handled a total of 2,995,530 passengers, an increase of 5.9% from the previous year, and 3,767.7 metric tons of cargo, with 27,092 aircraft movements.
