SAC, Sacramento city code,refers to the Sacramento metropolitan area, the capital city of the U.S. state of California and the seat and largest city of Sacramento County. There are two airports in Sacramento -Sacramento International Airport (IATA: SMF, ICAO: KSMF, FAA LID: SMF) and Sacramento Executive Airport (IATA: SAC, ICAO: KSAC, FAA LID: SAC) .

SMF is 10 miles (16 kilometers) northwest of downtown, run by Sacramento County. Southwest Airlines currently accounts for half the airline passengers. SMF handles flights to and from various US destinations (including Hawaii) as well as Mexico, Canada and connecting flights to Europe, Asia, and South America, and served more than 10 million passengers in 2016. The airport is best known for its red rabbit installation by Lawrence Argent entitled "Leap".

SAC is three miles (5 km) south of downtown Sacramento, in Sacramento County, California. The airport covers 540 acres (219 ha) and has three runways (two lit) and a helipad.

There is one port in SAC - The Port of Sacramento, now known as the Port of West Sacramento. It is a “Non-Container” port and its cargo is mainly of the agricultural, industrial and heavy equipment type, and the port specializes in bulk cargo. It receives far less traffic than larger ports.
