Sendai Airport (IATA: SDJ, ICAO: RJSS) is an international airport located in the city of Natori, Miyagi, 13.6 km (8.5 mi) south southeast of Sendai metropolis, Sendai, the capital city of Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. The airport is alternatively referred to as Sendai International Airport.
Sendai is served by all major Japanese airlines, as well as larger international airlines from North Asia. Sendai Airport has connections to all major Japanese cities. It became Japan's first state-owned airport to be operated by private entities. In 2015, it handled 3,152,569 passengers, 5,979 metric tonnes of cargo and 50,877 aircraft movements.
