Tirana International Airport (IATA code: TIA, ICAO code: LATI), often referred to as the Rinas International Airport, is the main international airport of the Republic of Albania. As Albania's only international airport, it is Albania's gateway to the world. Located 6 nautical miles (11 kilometres; 6.9 miles) northwest of Tirana, in the municipality of Krujë, Durrës County, it serves the city of Tirana, including its metropolitan area and surrounding region in the county of Tirana.
The airport offers international connections primarily within Europe, with the most frequent routes to Milan, Rome, London and Istanbul. It is the largest and busiest airport in Albania and is the seventh busiest Balkan airport as well. In December 2016, the airport announced that it had served 2 million passengers during 2016, reaching its second milestone. In 2019, it saw a peak in the number of passengers handled with a total of 3,338,147 passengers. During the same period of time, it had processed over 2,372 metric tons of cargo with 28,270 aircraft operations.
