Richard Pearse Airport (IATA: TIU, ICAO: NZTU), also known as Timaru Airport, is an airport located off the Pleasant Point Highway, 4 km north of the suburb Washdyke in Timaru, New Zealand.
Operated by Timaru District Council, the airport was named after a local pioneer aviator, Richard Pearse. As the main airport in South Canterbury, the airport offers regular Air New Zealand Link services to Wellington, and on occasion Oamaru and Christchurch .It covers a land area of around 205 hectares, comprising one sealed night capable runway and two grass runways suitable for light aircraft. A $1.3 million upgrade was approved in November 2015 by the Timaru District Council. The upgrade would increase the current terminal space from 450 square meters to cover almost 600 square meters and would include a new luggage collection area.
