Yarmouth International Airport (IATA code: YQI, ICAO code: CYQI) is a commercial and general aviation airport located in Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, Canada. Classified as an airport of entry by Nav Canada, the port was constructed originally for military use in World War II.
After the war, the airfield switched to public/commercial use when it was transferred to Transport Canada. Regularly scheduled service was started by Trans-Canada Air Lines, which became Air Canada in 1965. Between 1947 and 1987, it operated daily round trips to Halifax, NS, Saint John, NB, and Boston MA.
Yarmouth Airport facilities include a modern airport terminal building and combined services building which houses a maintenance garage. In 2017 it handled a total of 1280 flights, among which 286 were for government use, 356 were charter and 510 were private.
