Timmins Victor M. Power Airport (IATA code: YTS, ICAO code: CYTS) is one of the largest airports in northern Ontario and a convenient gateway to Toronto as well as northern communities. Located in the heart of northeastern Ontario, 6 nautical miles (11 kilometers; 6.9 miles) north-northwest of Timmins, it serves a much larger market than just the city of Timmins, handling the air traveler and cargo needs of an encompassing market area of approximately 160,000 people.
The airport offers scheduled passenger and cargo flights and general aviation, including air ambulance (MEDEVAC), forest-fire fighting, and flight training. It handles more than 200,000 passengers per year, and acts as a mini hub with flights to many small communities in north-central Ontario while connecting these communities to Toronto in the south.
