Victoria International Airport (IATA code: YYJ, ICAO code: CYYJ) is a public airport serving Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. It is 12 nautical miles (22 kilometers; 14 miles) north northwest of Victoria on the Saanich Peninsula, with the bulk of the airport (including the passenger terminal) in North Saanich, and a small portion of the airfield extending into Sidney.
The airport is classified as an airport of entry by Nav Canada and was rated one of the top ten most-loved airports in the world by CNN Travel and was the 2012, 2014 and 2020 winner of ‘Best Regional Airport in North America’ by Airports Council International. Its terminal is small enough to be ultra-convenient yet very modern as extensive improvements and upgrades have been completed over the last five years. Information on flight times, airlines, food service, shopping, currency exchange, parking, ground transportation, and other passenger services is all available on this website.
In 2018, the airport served 2,048,627 passengers, a peak number in the 21st century, and had 120,936 aircraft movements, making it Canada's 11th busiest airport in terms of passengers. It was British Columbia's third busiest airport in terms of passengers and aircraft movements. Non-stop service between Victoria and the United States decreased by 50% in the beginning of September 2019 when Delta Airlines permanently ended its three daily flights, after which only Alaska Airlines will fly the Victoria - Seattle route.
